Educational Clinics

The York River Yacht Club will be hosting a series of educational clinics in the coming months.
The next seminar will be Saturday, February 21, and will cover the use of Radar, including radar principles and operation, as well as tuning, display interpretation, radar navigation, radar piloting, and collision avoidance. Also USCG Navigation Rules and radar. The clinic will be held in the activities room at York River Yacht Haven and will start at 10:00 with coffee.  There will be a break for a light lunch, compliments of the Yacht Club, and we hope to finish by 2:00.
While reservations are not required, it will help us with planning if you RSVP by using the “Contact Us” tab on the York River Yacht Club’s site at “yryc.org“.  There is absolutely no need to have radar currently installed on your boat to profit by attending this clinic. However, we would like to know if you currently have radar installed, so please let us know when you RSVP.
The following month, we will offer a clinic on Saturday March 28 to cover Racing.  The York River Yacht Club operates a terrific Wednesday Night Race program.  Spring, Summer, and Fall series each have classes for both a spinnaker fleet and a non-spinnaker (cruising) fleet.  This Racing clinic covers all the rules and tactics any boat owner would need to jump in when the racing starts in April.
