A Lovely Night for a Moonlight Race

Five boats participated in the Moonlight Race last night. The wind was good at the start, giving everyone a great ‘push’. But along the way, it died down, giving racers just about a knot of speed, then up again in the usual place, at the mouth of the river. Entering the bay offered its own challenges, when the waves starting coming up. But the wind was also present to help get over those waves. We saw a bright red moon rise around 9 pm, lighting up the water and making things easier to see.

Here’s some pictures and links to videos provided by participants.
