Get Ready for Spring Racing Season – Get Your PHRF Rating Now!
Ahoy YRYC Racers (and those who would like to race with YRYC),
If you plan to race with YRYC this season you will need to obtain or renew your PHRF of the Chesapeake handicap rating certificate. YRYC will no longer provide an “interim” rating, nor will we be providing Wednesday Night Race rating adjustments for roller furling, fixed prop, small headsails, etc. These adjustments are now being provided by PHRF of the Chesapeake, and will be reflected in the rating you obtain from them. So be sure to include your prop and hull configuration, largest headsail size, and roller furling gear on your rating application.

Don’t delay! There is always a rush during the springtime and PHRF gets backlogged. You could end up waiting many, many weeks for your certificate, and your crusty curmudgeon of a Race Captain might just assign you a rating of -50.
Once you obtain your certificate, please forward it to the YRYC Race Captain – either as a PDF or a link forwarded from PHRF – for our records and accurate race scoring.
