It’s Time to Make Plans!  I have just launched Elixir, and if you are like me, you are ready to reap some of the fruits of spring preparations.  Let’s get out and enjoy our boats.

The May 5-6 Spring Shakedown Cruise is just around the corner.  Call the Salt Ponds Marina Resort and reserve a slip.  (Contact information below.)  Be sure to tell them that you are with the York River Yacht Club and they will try to put us near each other.  It’s an easy trip from the York River.  Down on Saturday,  dinner at the marina restaurant and socializing Saturday night, back on Sunday.

Please email me and let me know if you are joining the group.  Include your boat’s name and (optionally) a cell phone number you will have on board that weekend.  I will send out several reminder emails, and will include a list of those who tell me they are coming.  I also need to know how many from each crew will want to join the group for dinner at the restaurant so that I can call ahead to make a group reservation.

Next cruise:

Memorial Day Weekend on Mobjack Bay.  We’ll go up on Saturday, perhaps with an informal race for those who are interested.  Then raft up and party that afternoon/evening, breaking apart to anchor before dark.  The next day we’ll sail to another Mobjack river anchorage and repeat the process.  Home on Monday.  No reservations required, but if you tell me your plans, I’ll list you in the next email.

And finally (for now):

June 1-3 Blackbeard Festival in Hampton.  Again, call Bluewater and make a YRYC reservation.  This is a fun weekend and very popular.  Don’t wait too long to call!  Let me know your plans.
