April Monthly Meeting: There will be a potluck supper Saturday night, April 19, 2008. Drinks and appetizers start at 6:30 PM at the Activity Room at Crown Pointe Marina. Members should bring a dish to feed at least 8 people. Assignments are as follows for last name beginning with:
A-C: appetizer
D-H: main dish
I-R: salad or veggie side dish
S-Z: dessert
Ice & beverages will be furnished by the Club. There is NO charge for the dinner or beverages since everyone is asked to bring food to contribute to the potluck! After dinner, there will be an informal business meeting to discuss the York River Cup.
May Monthly Meeting: Saturday, May 17 we will be having a marvelous Enchantment Under the Sea Dance. Dolphins frolic overhead as the rhythm of the waves is repeated in the music of all our favorite Oldies. This is not a dinner meeting, but heavy hors oeuvres’ will be served. Email Trudy if you haven’t told her what you would like to bring. Beverages will be provided by the Club. This will be a great fun evening before the rigors of the June regatta. York River Cup dinner and drink tickets will be available for purchase.
June Monthly Meeting: Saturday, June 7 is our big public showing at the York River Cup. Race Captain Brian Gregory assures us of another great race and we are hoping for beautiful weather. Many hands make light work, and we need every one of us to make this the biggest and best to date.
July Monthly Meeting: There will be a Mexican potluck supper Friday night, July 18, 2008. Drinks and appetizers start at 6:30 PM. Members should bring a dish to feed at least 8 people. This will be a true potluck without assignments. Tortillas and salsa will be provided, so bring what you like to make burritos, tacos, fajitas etc. As always, drinks and music provided.
August Monthly Meeting: On Friday night, August 15, our Chinese Dragon will help us get in the mood for the Olympics. The Chinese potluck dinner will once again be without assignments, to allow your creativity free rein. Chopsticks and fortune cookies provided, as well as drinks and music. And you thought all the excitement was in Beijing!
September Monthly Meeting: Saturday, September 20 is our Annual Membership Meeting. Prospective and new members are warmly welcome at this Luau. Sip wine or beer while watching the fishing boat unload our very own fresh oysters dockside. A truly memorable event awaits us all. Hula dancing optional.
October Monthly Meeting: For our meeting Friday, October 17th meeting, dust off those old cowboy boots and practice your do-si-do’s. Professional Caller Dick Curts will teach us which way to go and have us running in circles (and squares) around each other at the York River Yacht Club Square Dance and Barbeque! An old fashioned country potluck. BBQ provided. The party starts at 6:30 PM.
November Monthly Meeting: Saturday, November 15th will be our Annual Meeting. The business at hand will be discussed after a wonderful Italian Dinner.
December Monthly Meeting: Having dealt with business last month, our New Year’s Eve meeting will be all fun and games at our Casino Night. Whether you are a gambler of experience or just curious, Black Jack, Roulette and Craps dealers will be ready to relieve you of your (faux) money. Never-the-less, your faux money (provided) can make you a big winner at our midnight auction. Beer, wine and Asti Spumante provided to toast the New Year. Ladies, this is the time to wear your glitziest dresses! Hats and noisemakers encouraged!
