Another Harborfest in the Books!
YRYC had a fleet of 11 boats make the trip to Harborfest 2023!
Many of the sailboats left Thursday and and enjoyed a bit of a sporty sail down to Old Point Comfort as we outran thunderstorms that were west of us. Once at our destination, we anchored out and enjoyed an evening out in Pheobus.
Friday morning, everyone met at the rally point in the Elizabeth River where we escorted the Schooner Virginia in the Parade of Sails into downtown Norfolk.
After the parade, 8 of us headed off to Freemason Harbor Basin for the weekend and the rest to Tidewater Marina. It was a beautiful weekend with mild temperatures to enjoy all the music, food, and fellowship Harborfest had to offer. Members GT and John H even took 1st and 2nd place respectively in the annual Sunday morning Bloody Mary contest!
The Sunday morning sail home was sunny with a bit nice wind, with everyone making it back to home port safely.
