Memorial Day Weekend 2015
Wow, what a great cruise. It all started Saturday morning as we headed out of YRYH with a splendid NE wind at 15 knots that carried us right up the York and with one tack it carried us to the East River. It was truly a glorious sail over. In the East River we met up with Rosaleah who hosted the raft up. Thank you Duane and Claire for sharing your beautiful trawler. We had a marvelous time. Fun was had by all as we talked and shared a potluck dinner together. Sunday morning was an easy morning with good conversation and messing about in our boats. Some even took an hour or so to get in a little fishing. Then we departed for a short 10 mile sail to Wilson Creek and anchored just off John and Brownie Haricivit’s house. There we enjoyed John’s roasted oysters and wonderful carolina barbeque made by Brownie herself. Thank you John and Brownie for hosting the picnic at your wonderful home. Club members joined in and played croquet and had a remote control sailboat race and many golf cart rides. A good time was had by all. We closed the evening celebrating our Commodore’s birthday, 45 again this year. Happy birthday Joran!
