Conditions on the river were better than expected, with only light rain on the course Saturday afternoon. Results: PHRF A/B/C (4 boats), 1. Ben Weeks, Rumble (2-1), 2. Mike Austin, Movin' On (1-2); PHRF Non-spin (3 boats) 1. George Jones, Poco Loco (1-1), 2. Joran Gendell, Elixir (2-2). Event Chairman - Steve Bowen.

Admiral’s Cup 2011
The 15th annual Admiral’s Cup was held on Saturday, August 6th, once again hosted by our good friends at Seaford Yacht Club. Conditions in Poquoson Bay were challenging, with 15-25kt winds around the 11.7 nm, two-lap triangle course. For the first time, we had a cruising-class fleet along with spin and non-spin. The spinnaker fleet was an all-YRYC event, with Steve Bowen’s Dream On holding off Jim Bordeaux’ Solstice and John Haracivet’s Midnight Rider.

On Saturday, Steve Bowen’s Dream On won the Admiral’s Cup. Nine boats raced in three classes in the 15th annual running the Admiral’s Cup held off Seaford. Competitors had winds around 12 knots at the 1pm start. And, those winds built to over 20 by the race finish. And, even though predicted rain storms held off until most of the boats had finished, there was some great heavy weather sailing! Results: PHRF A/B/C (3 boats): 1st Steve Bowen, Dream On. PHRF Non-spin (3 boats): 1st Chuck Eldred, Gail Force. Cruising: (3 boats):1st Bill Small, Cleo.

New England Cruise Update
Three boats left the York River on Sunday the 19'th of June heading for Nantucket, MA -- "Delphinus", "Camden", and "Elixir". Delphinus left at 9am with George Jones, Rich Watkins, and Tucker VanDyck. Camden and Elixir left around 3pm with Larry and Maureen Davis and with Joran and Lin Gendell.
