Racing skippers, be sure to check your rating certificate expiration date at  www.phrfchesbay.org .  A number of southern Bay racers’ certificates expire in March or April.  If you are one of these, get your renewal done now.  Spring racing starts in early April and you cannot race PHRF without an up-to-date PHRF certificate.

PHRF makes it easy – apply and pay on line at the PHRF website.  York River Yacht Club uses PHRF of the Chesapeake handicap ratings for all boats participating in YRYC Races.

YRYC racers are required to obtain a current handicap rating certificate from PHRF of the Chesapeake as part of their  annual racing registration.   The PHRF rating certificate includes adjustments for boat configuration, sail measurements, propeller configuration, and roller furler configuration.

Note that PHRF of the Chesapeake issues separate handicaps for spinnaker and non-spinnaker configurations.
